Philanthropic Excellence – learning from industry experts

The popular one-week intensive seminar by the University of Basel CEPS for leaders and professionals from grantmaking foundations takes place once a year in spring in the picturesque town of Sigriswil, in the foot of the Bernese Alps. This March, FCF president Tatjana Frey and FCF GM Marion Gehring had the pleasure of attending, learning and exchanging views with industry professionals.

Since 2003, the University of Basel has been offering a suite of education courses for foundations. This course enables one to familiarize with the key contents of professional foundation management in a very short time. In addition to the business basics and economic components of foundation management, one also acquires a sound knowledge of the legal and socio-political issues of foundations.

Foundations are important pillars of our society as they are involved in almost every issue, be it cultural, social, scientific, ecological or sports.
